--"
The Knights extended (their) run to five straight titles...with the winning touchdown scored with 6.8 seconds remaining on the clock at Minto Field.

The Coyotes never trailed in the game until Mark Devlin’s extra point sailed through the uprights with the seconds ticking away, and the defence held the Knights off the board until QB Jake Molinski’s eight-yard TD run at 4:58 of the fourth quarter...Molinski (was) easily the game’s MVP with 11 carries for 100 yards and two rushing TDs, with another clutch TD pass to Rouben Charles."

"St. Mark had an opportunity to win the game in the final minute but couldn't push the ball into the end zone from the three yard line on third down. Running back Derrick Alexander, who carried the ball 16 times for 83 yards, was hit behind the line of scrimmage by Justin Dhaliwal and Victor Drury for a two-yard loss with 32 seconds left. On the previous series, the Lions were stopped on three chances from the Ashbury seven. Nick Dallas tried a field goal from the 12-yard line but it was blocked."

** The championship game between the two school boards was cancelled due to poor field conditions so St. Pius and Ridgemont are considered co-champions for 1983 as each won the championship of their respective board.

* St. Patrick and Fisher Park were named co-champions of the Ottawa school board interscholastic league following a 6-6 tie in a triple overtime in the the title game. St. Pius, meanwhile, playing at the senior level for the first time, secured the Carleton board championship.

Note: While most records date back to 1927, the Ottawa Citizen and/or Journal from 1926 explains that Ottawa College was named champion as a result of securing first place in the standings. In 1925, Westboro defeated Glebe 12-01 to earn that city championship.
